In this demonstration, we present MeshEye, an energy-effi cient wire- less smart camera mote that has been designed with low-rate, dis- tributed imaging applications in mind. Special attention is given to its unique and novel vision system: a low-resolution stereo vision system continuously determines bearing, size, and range of moving objects entering its fi eld of view. This information drives the focus of attention of a high-resolution camera module. Hence, this hybrid- resolution vision facilitates high-resolution foreground acquisition while avoiding costly background removal at high pixel rates.
