In February 2014, DVB Organization adopted new DVB-S2 specification extended edition DVB-S2X. DVB-S2X as a second-generation satellite broadcast television standard DVB-S2 extensions to further improve bandwidth utilization, and provides a very low signal to noise ratio (VL-SNR) mode for mobile applications that may arise in the future.
