In this paper, the number of cells required to provide coverage to each mobile station in a 4G cellular network is discussed.The cell selection is formulated as an optimization problem. For this two new algorithms are proposed and their performance is compared with the existing algorithm for cell selection in a highly loaded future 4G cellular network.
