系统采用性能价格比较好的AK-3 型压力传感器，直接输出0～5V电压信号。电压信号的转换采用串行接口的12位A/D转换器TLC2543，精度和速度都能很好地满足系统要求。仪器的CPU采用目前低价位但技术十分成熟的AT89C51，仪器的LED数码管显示/驱动芯片采用接口简单但功能强大的HD7279。本系统提供日历时钟电路，在方便用户确定时间的同时，还可以为定时通信提供依据；在发生报警时还能向上位机提供确切的报警时间。同时系统还设计了RS-232总线的通信接口电路，每到整点就要向上位机发送各路气压值，供上位机记录分析。
本系统软件分两大部分，键盘中断和定时中断。工作流程是这样的：每50ms就要进行AD转换，尺度变换，比较是否越位，是否报警等操作，如果有按键动作，执行键盘中断程序。键盘解释在5s之内有效。
