The efficiency of perceptual coding in compressing color images relies on the estimation of perceptual redundancy. In this paper, a color image coder is proposed for perceptually lossless image compression which shapes the coding error as a part of perceptual redundancy. The perceptual redundancy inherent in each pixel of a color image is estimated in terms of a triple of values, one for each color channel, as a detection threshold for distortion.

In this paper we propose a watermarking system that uses the biorthogonal discrete wavelet transform, DWT and the message is encoded before embedding. The proposed watermarking method is very simple, implying four steps: turbo coding of the watermark message, embedding the turbo coded watermark into the host image using a perceptual mask, extraction of the turbo coded watermark from the watermarked, possibly corrupted image, and turbo decoding of the watermark. The goal of this paper is the association of the DWT and duobinary turbo codes.
