the use of coherent space-frequency coding in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based frequency-selective multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna fading channels has been proposed. Acquiring knowledge of the fading coefficients in a MIMO channel is already very challenging in the frequency-flat (fast) fading case. In the frequency-selective case, this task becomes significantly more difficult due to the presence of multiple paths, which results in an increased number of parameters to be estimated. In this paper, we address code design for noncoherent frequency-selective MIMO-OFDM fading links, where neither the transmitter nor the receiver knows the channel. We derive the code design criteria

A closed-loop power control system having both fixed-step and adaptive-step power control algorithms and incorporating with multitap RAKE receivers was proposed. Simulations were performed for wide-band radio channels having path loss, slow fading, and fast fading. As the measurement of the received power and the bit energy-to-interfkrence power spectral density ratio play an important role in a CDMA power control system, a scheme to estimate these two parameters was proposed. For a Rayleigh fading channel and a Rician fading channel having a K factor of 6dB, a three-tap RAKE receiver is desirable.

Time and Frequency Synchronization Techniques for OFDM Systems operating in Gaussian and Fading Channels: A Tutorial The aim of this paper is to survey and compare previous methods for Data-aided timing and frequency synchronization of OFDM System. In the sequel, we propose a fast and accurate FFT-based frequency offset estimation. The synchronization techniques are examined in Gaussian andMultipath fading environments for comparison. The results of the performance comparison are presented in terms of mean andmean-square error (MSE) obtained by simulations. The timing offset estimator with best performance is chosen for system timingsynchronization. The FFT-based frequency offset estimation method has significantly smaller MSE than others can beperformed using the same timing training symbol. Therefore,there is only one training symbol needed as preamble in whole synchronization process.
