Pretreatment and 3D reconstruction of medical images are two vital steps in the whole visualization, effecting directly the result and speed of visualization. In this thesis, Firstly, it offers a detailed introduction about the pretreatment technique, including grey-scale transformation and noise elimination and pseudo color coding. Then aiming at the 3D reconstruction, the surface rendering algorithms and volume rendering algorithms are detail discussed. At last triangle collapse is summarized and used to simplification of medical image 3D model which is reconstructed by MC algorithms.
