In this paper, we study a decode-and-forward twoway relaying network. We propose an opportunistic two-way relaying (O-TR) scheme based on joint network coding and opportunistic relaying. In the proposed scheme, one single “best relay” is selected by MaxMin criterion to perform network coding on two decoded symbols sent from two sources, and then to broadcast the network-coded symbols back to the two sources. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed, and verified throughMonte Carlo simulations. Results show that the proposed scheme achieves a better performance compared to the fullydistributed space-time two-way relaying (FDST-TR), which has been identified as the best decode-and-forward two-way relaying method so far.

An ad-hoc network with a sender, a destination and a third station act- ing as a relay is analysed. The channels are modelled containing thermal noise, Rayleigh fading and path loss. Di® erent combining methods and di- versity protocols are compared. The amplify and forward protocol shows a better performance than the decode and forward protocol, unless an error correcting code is simulated. To combine the incoming signals the chan- nel quality should be estimated as well as possible. Information about the average quality shows nice bene¯ ts, and a rough approximation about the variation of the channel quality increases the performance even more.

In this paper, an Alamouti-coded decode-And-forward protocol with optimum relay selection for three-user one destination cooperative communications is investigated. Particularly, we design the new protocol that allows the source node retransmitting the signal to the destination node at the same time as the relay node forwarding the received signal to the destination node with an Alamouti coding scheme. We exploit the cooperative maximum ratio combining technique (C-MRC) at the destination for combining a multiple copy of received signals.
