Description: With the development in the image processing field a wide variety of filters have been developed. The quality of filters mainly depends on to which extent it is able to recover the degraded image so that it is as close as to the original image that is in other words, a filter that minimizes the mean square error is an appropriate filter for a particular application. Median Filter is such a kind of non linear filter which minimizes the mean square error to a large extent. A variant of a median filter “switching median filter” is simulated using C in this project.
