The nonsubsamp led Contourlet transform p rovides a flexible multi2scale, multi2direction and shift2invariant image rep resentation. It is used for texture feature extraction. As a region2based shape descrip tor, Zernike moments have good rotation invariance. It is used to extract shape feature. Then, the two features are inte2 grated into image retrieval. A CT image database was retrieved using thismethod. Experimental results show that the new method has good retrieval performance and the p roperties of translation, scaling and rotation invariance. Itwas pointed out that the dimension of Zernike moments feature vector was generally high after briefly introducing the basic concep t of the Zernike moments and the image Zernike moments shape feature vector. Based on the p rincipal components analysis, itwas shown that the p rincipal components analysis (PCA) could be app lied in dimension reduction of image Zernike moments feature. Meanwhile, the p rocess of the dimension reduction based on PCA was put forward. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the app lication.

为了实施图像的版权保护,提出了一种基于Zernike不变矩的零水印算法。利用Zernike矩幅度的旋转不 变性提取图像特征点,将特征点通过设定的阈值量化为二值序列作为零水印保存到零水印信息库( IPR) 。证明版权 利用Zernike矩提取待检测图像特征点,以同样的阈值量化为二值水印序列与零水印作相关性检测。实验结果表明, 该方法很好地解决了传统水印鲁棒性和不可感知性的矛盾问题,对常用的图像处理和几何攻击具有较好的鲁棒性。-In order to imp lement the p icture copyright p rotection, this article p roposed a zero watermarking algorithm based on the Zernike moments. The rectangular revolves invariability of Zernike moments was used to withdraw p icture characteristic point, and quantified it for the binary sequence as the zero watermarking. The other image used the samemethod to extract its feature and quantify for the binary sequence. Then comparison to zero watermarking was made to p roof the copyright. The result indicated thismethod is very good to solute the contradictory question of robustness and impercep tibility

A new approach for fingerprint verification, based on wavelets and pseudo Zernike moments (PZMs), is discussed. PZMs are robust to noisy images, invariant to rotation and have a good image reconstruction capability [4]. PZMs have been used for global analysis and so they are used to extract global features (the shape of the fingerprint image). Wavelets are good at local analysis and so they help to extract local features (minutiae) from a fingerprint. Therefore, this hybrid approach extracts most significant features from the fingerprint images and achieve better verification rate. Different types of wavelets are used for the study but the result shows that Symmlet orthonormal wavelet of order 8 gives best verification rate.
