Description: The Linux operating system USES virtual memory management technology to allow each process to have a separate process address space. The space is a linear virtual space with a block size of 4G, and the user sees and contacts the virtual address, unable to see the actual physical memory address.
Using the virtual address can not only protect the effect of the operating system (the user cannot directly access the physical memory), and more importantly, the user program can use more than the actual physical memory address space.
When the process needs to memory, only from the kernel virtual memory area, and not the actual physical address, process and physical memory is not obtained, get only the right to the use of a new linear address range. The actual physical memory only occurs when the process really accesses the newly acquired virtual address, and the "page" exception is generated by the "please page mechanism" to enter the routine that assigns the actual page box.
