Description: In this paper we simulate a multi-hop self-organizing wireless
sensor network. The purpose of the simulation is to investigate,
quantitatively, the performance of our self-organizing network
design. In particular, we examine such parameters as network
formation time, data packet delivery performance, throughput,
and device duty cycle. In addition, we analyze the impact of
MAC and low-duty cycle protocols. We demonstrate that our
tree network has the capability of automatic network formation,
update, and recovery. The design also supports simple address
assignments and straightforward routing. We discuss our
approach, OPNET simulation design, and simulation results
