Programmable Matter is a technology that enables us to control and manipulate 3‐dimensional physical artifacts. It is a method which brings the dream of synthetic reality closer to reality. This technology has reached a point where we can realistically build a programmable matter system which is guided by design principles which will allow it to ultimately scale to millions of sub‐millimetre catoms. The system, which follows the principles of a programmable matter, is Claytronics.
