Description: A 2D 4.65μm*4.65μm photonic crystal structure with a central point defect consists of an 7 ∗ 7
array of silicon(refractive index n=3.4)squares having 0.15μm as the width of each side with the
horizontal(y-axis direction)and vertical(x-axis direction) distances(0.45μm) between the center of
each silicon square. The filling material of the rest region in this structure is air(n=1.0). Additionally, perfectly matched layer boundary condition is used to simulate the extension of the structure to
infinity and the sinusoidal source with the free space wavelength of 1.55μm is added on the left edge,
a set of color scaled diagrams of the z-component of electrical field that is mainly inhibited in the
central cavity are illustrated.
