Description: The Strip function returns a string with space characters removed from the front, back, or both ends. Intervening space characters between words are retained. Another character can be removed instead.
result = Strip( string [, [ option ] [, character ] ] )
string
the text with characters to remove from the ends
option
One of:
Leading
Trailing
Both -- the default !
character
an alternate character to remove
Examples:
say Strip( 007 , L , 0 ) -- shows: 7 -- leading zeroes are removed
say Strip( both ends need to be shaved , B ) -- shows: both ends need to be shaved
say Strip( 42.0000 , T , 0 ) -- shows: 42. -- trailing zeroes are removed (but not the decimal point!)
say Strip( both ends need to be shaved, again ) -- shows: both ends need to be shaved, again
