IF STATEMENT-
The switch statement permits us to different statements based on the different values of a parameter. The values can be numeric or they can be character strings.
The format of this structure is as follows:
switch parameter
case parameter value 1
Statements to be d if parameter takes on value 1
case parameter value 2
Statements to be d if parameter takes on value 2

-
case parameter value n
Statements to be d if parameter takes on value n
otherwise
Statements to be d if parameter does not take on any of the
n values.
