Description: Application layer multicast (application layer multicast, referred to as "ALM) is the important supplement of network layer multicast. But unlike the network layer multicast, node is independent of the application layer multicast host user interests and decisions. Selfish host user in order to improve their own interests, may not be strictly abide by the provisions of the application layer multicast protocol, thus to influence the overall performance of multicast session. In order to design a trusted, robust application layer multicast protocol, the user of the application layer multicast is necessary to study the selfish. This paper summarizes the research progress in this field, and according to the application layer multicast protocol work stage of the research is divided into three categories, namely the control structure of the maintenance phase selfish, node information gathering phase of selfish and selfish sex research data structure construction phase.
