Description: One of the practical difficulties that can be faced in NGN is how to effectively penetrate the problems of NAT/FW based on IP voice, data, video and other business. For this, the previous solution to the session initializing protocol is ALGs, STUN, TURN, etc. This paper probes into a new media session signaling to penetrate NAT/FW solutions - interactive communication establishment (ICE). It through the integrated use of the existing agreement, in a more effective way to organize the session establishment process, make it without any increase in any delay at the same time is more robust than a single protocol such as STUN, flexibility. In this paper, the ICE algorithm is introduced in detail, and an example is designed to describe the process of penetrating the Symmetric NAT process of SIP signaling protocol. Finally, the advantages and application prospects of ICE are summarized.
