Description: PeerCast System Introduction PeerCast is open source P2P streaming media software, P2P streaming media and different from traditional streaming media, there is no central focus on streaming media server, any one node can be broadcast as seed nodes, each node as a Client from other node to receive media data for playback at the same time, but also as a Server to other nodes provide the services, quality of service throughout the network as the number of nodes increased with the increase, and the opposite of traditional streaming media server. PeerCast currently only supports broadcasting, does not support the form of on-demand VOD. Support for streaming media formats: MP3, WMA, AVS, WMV and NSV, etc.. This paper describes PeerCast system architecture, workflow, P2P algorithms and problems.
