Description: OFDM systems avoid inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) by inserting a cyclic prefix (CP) larger than the channel impulse response length before the time-domain symbol. However, long CP will reduce the efficiency of data transmission. A minimum mean square error (MMSE) channel shortening equalization technique may be employed to compress the channel impulse response length.
