Description: In the MPEG-2 system, the process of information combining / splitting is referred to as system multiplexing / tap. The standard information stream for actual transmission generated by multiplexing video and audio ES streams and auxiliary data is called MPEG-2 transmission Stream (TS: TransportStream). According to the different quality of transmission media, MPEG-2 defines two kinds of composite information flow: Transport Stream (TS) and Program Stream (PS: Program Stream) The difference between TS stream and PS stream is that the packet structure of TS stream is a fixed length, The PS stream packet structure is variable length. This document is about the standard PS stream.
