Description: As the light interacts with the metamaterial, the magnetic field of light becomes important. The dispersive magnetic permeability of metamaterials leads to the nonlinear interaction between light and metamaterials, and presents many new characteristics. The research progress of two order nonlinear optical phenomena in metamaterials is reviewed.
