[Other] ICI_OFDM DL : 0: INTER-CARRIER INTERFERENCE CANCELLATION FOR OFDM SYSTEMS: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an emerging multi-carrier modulation scheme, which has been adopted for several wireless standards such as IEEE 802.11a and HiperLAN2. A well-known problem of OFDM is its sensitivity to frequency offset between the transmitted and received carrier frequencies. This frequency offset introduces inter-carrier interference (ICI) in the OFDM symbol. This project investigates three methods for combating the effects of ICI: ICI self-cancellation (SC), maximum likelihood (ML) estimation, and extended Kalman filter (EKF) method. These three methods are compared in terms of bit error rate performance, bandwidth efficiency, and computational complexity. Through simulations, it is shown that the three techniques are effective in mitigating the effects of ICI. For high values of the frequency offset and for higher order modulation schemes, the ML and EKF methods perform better than the SC method.

[Windows Mobile] WiiMP DL : 0: Most of you are familiar to the Nintendo Wii, and if you know the wii you probably know the wiimote (the Wii remote). The Wiimote is one of the most interactive gaming remotes I have put my hands on. After snooping around the net it turned out that using Bluetooth and the wiimote library, you can connect the wii to your PC as an HID and send/receive messages from and to the wiimote. In this project, we will connect the wiimote and then take control of the Windows Media Player, so the wiimote is going to be controlling the Windows Media Player (WMP) as a simple Bluetooth remote. THIS PROJECT IS CREATED USING VS2008 so it might not work on previous versions. You can download VS2008 Express edition for free.
