Description: The need for accurate monitoring and analysis of sequential data arises in many scientic, industrial
and nancial problems. Although the Kalman lter is effective in the linear-Gaussian
case, new methods of dealing with sequential data are required with non-standard models.
Recently, there has been renewed interest in simulation-based techniques. The basic idea behind
these techniques is that the current state of knowledge is encapsulated in a representative
sample from the appropriate posterior distribution. As time goes on, the sample evolves and
adapts recursively in accordance with newly acquired data. We give a critical review of recent
developments, by reference to oil well monitoring, ion channel monitoring and tracking
problems, and propose some alternative algorithms that avoid the weaknesses of the current

Description: Deaf people use facial expressions a non-manual channel for conveying grammatical information in sign language. Tracking facial features using the Kanade - Lucas - Tomasi (KLT) algorithm is a simple and effective method toward recognizing these facial expressions, which are performed simultaneously with head motions and hand signs. To make the tracker robust under these conditions, a Bayesian framework was developed as a feedback mechanism to the KLT tracker. This mechanism relies on a set of face shape subspaces learned by Probabilistic Principal Component Analysis. An update scheme was utilized to modify these subspaces and adapt to persons with different face shapes. algorithm to realize object location, also, the object scalar and model update mechanism is presented. To address
the multiple object occlusion problems, a method is presented to locate multiple objects by determining the object
merger and separation. Experimental results on infrared and visible dual-channel video demonstrate that the
proposed method can successfully cope with the cases in complex environment such as illumination changes,
