Description: This paper presents the Direct Power Control of
Three-Phase Matrix Converters (DPC-MC) operating as Unified
Power Flow Controllers (UPFC). Since matrix converters allow
direct AC/AC power conversion without intermediate energy
storage link, the resulting UPFC has reduced volume and cost,
together with higher reliability. Theoretical principles of DPCMC
method are established based on an UPFC model, together
with a new direct power control approach based on sliding mode
control techniques. As a result, active and reactive power can be
directly controlled by selection of an appropriate switching state
of matrix converter. This new direct power control approach
associated to matrix converters technology guarantees
decoupled active and reactive power control, zero error
tracking, fast response times and timely control actions.
Simulation results show good performance of the proposed

Description: A fast and accurate method for the-direct cakdation of noncharacteristic frequencies
occurring around HVDC links is presented. The technique calculates small signal linearised
frequency crosscoupling interrelationships for both converters about a base operating point,
modelling the coupling with matrix transfers. The full system, including AC and DC systems, is
modelled by connecting all individual transfers together with appropriate system equations and
nodal analysis. The resulting equation set is rearranged and solved directly for the unknown
interharmonic quantities. Returned subsynchronous frequencies and the effect of switching instant
variation are discussed. The method is validated against time-domain simulation. for two different

节,从而有效抑制非正常输入对输出性能的影响。闭环控制
中采用一种非线性PID 算法,削弱了Z–源网络表现出的非
最小相位特性带来的不良影响,提高了系统动态性能和抗扰
能力。仿真和实验验证了该拓扑的可行性和正确性。-A novel Z-source two-stage matrix converter
(ZSTSMC) and its modulation strategy were proposed to
overcome two main drawbacks of conventional matrix
converters, i.e., low voltage transfer ratio and low immunity to
abnormal input voltages. The Boost voltage characteristics of
Z-source network was introduced to improve the voltage
transfer ratio. The shoot-through index was adaptively
controlled by Z-source capacitor voltage closed-loop, so as to
be immune to the disturbance of abnormal input voltages. The
nonlinear PID controller was employed to eliminate effects
caused by non-minimum-phase characteristic presented in
Z-source network and to improve the dynamic performance
and robustness of the system. Finally, the validity and
feasibility of this topology were verified by simulation and
